Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers enjoyed a dig at Sir Alex Ferguson by saying that Manchester United are 10 players short of making a challenge for the Premier League title.
The former United boss tore into the champions' bitter rivals in his new autobiography, claiming Rodgers is 'eight players short of becoming genuine title contenders'.
But as the Liverpool manager hit back at Ferguson's criticism, he showed his sense of humour with a shot of his own at the Old Trafford club.

Rodgers said: 'That's probably two short of what they need. We need eight, they need 10.'
Ferguson's stinging attack on the Anfield club included his surprise that Rodgers was appointed as Dalglish’s replacement, given that he was ‘only’ 39 years old.
He also said that Steven Gerrard is not a 'top, top player', claming that the Liverpool midfielder 'seldom had a kick' when coming against a midfield of Roy Keane and Paul Scholes.
Rogers was most irked, however, by Ferguson's claim that 23-year-old Jordan Henderson's gait 'might cause him problems later in his career'.

Rodgers said: ‘I have got to be honest, that surprised me about Jordan, coming from someone with that status in the game; someone who has worked with young players and understands the impact words can have on them.
‘I have to say I thought it was inappropriate. It’s not something that is coming from factual credence.
‘This is a boy who can play two or three games on the spin, one after the other. He is a wonderful athlete. One thing I would say is that, physically, he is an absolute machine.

‘Jordan is a great kid, a real honest boy who will work and fight to be the best he can be.
‘I’m sure if Sir Alex bumps into Jordan, he will apologise. Sir Alex hasn’t worked with him, so doesn’t know what type of player he is. I know he is improving all the time.’
