These two women are damn hell famous, successful and extra talented and yes, they can talk in one voice because both are mothers! They chose to live a public life and have been on it for the last 25 years plus.
Both actresses were spotted at the California State Assembly Committee on Public Safety (August 12) to back up a future anti-paparazzi bill. The bill is aimed at criminalizing free lance photographers who go about taking pictures of children without their permission from their legal guardians.
Jennifer Garner made it very clear that “I love my kids” and stated that all three are private citizens of America who are ‘beautiful, sweet and innocent and I don’t want a gang of arguing, shouting, lawbreaking photographers who camp out everywhere we are all day, every day, to continue traumatizing my kids”
Oscar winner Halle Berry on the other hand, was deeply hurt when photographers crawled up to her daughter at school at began asking the 5 year old child “how do you feel, Nahla? You may not see your father again. How do you feel about that?” she warned ‘that was cruel and totally uncalled for’.
There are speculations however that the Senate Bill 606, written by Sen. Kevin DeLeon of Los Angeles, would change the legal definition of ‘harassment’ to include photographing or recording a child without the permission of a legal guardian if these women push through with their fury. But newspaper publishers have expressed distress that the bill could restrain them from doing their jobs.
The proposed legislation is expected to be heard by the Assembly Judiciary Committee later.
