Grammy award winner, Toni Braxton has finalized her divorce from husband Keri Lewis. The 42-year-old singer has officially ended her 12-years union with the father of her two sons.
‘The couple has had an amicable split and will still both be actively involved in raising their two sons, 11-year-old Denim and 10-year-old Diezel,’ her spokesperson said in a statement.
People.com reported the official divorce news regarding the couple who tied the knot back in 1998.
The ‘Unbreak My Heart’ performer admitted in her VH1 Behind the Music special last October that the split with Lewis in 2009 took a toll on her.
‘I had to figure out a plan for my life that had nothing to do with him,’ she said.
I was angry with everybody. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me. I felt that I was a person dealing with a lot of struggles and here comes another one.’
The singer has endured troubled times in recent years.
