Pictured: Chris Brown is released after pleading 'not guilty' as assault charge is reduced from felony to misdemeanour

Chris Brown has had his assault charge reduced from a felony to a misdemeanour.

The singer was arrested outside a five star hotel in Washington, D.C. on Sunday morning after he allegedly punched a man and broke his nose.

According to TMZ Brown pleaded not guilty and was released from custody without bail, and he was pictured smiling as he left court on Monday.

The website also reports that the 24-year-old has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from the alleged victim.

While it is not yet clear why Brown’s charge was reduced, TMZ reports it may be because the injuries were minor.

The victim apparently claims Brown broke his nose but according to the publication, the police have stated that the man was treated for a fractured nasal bone.

The original police report allegedly stated that it was Brown’s bodyguard who threw the punch, but the bodyguard's charge has also been reduced to a misdemeanour.

.The R&B singer along with Christopher Hollosy allegedly punched a man outside the upscale W Hotel in Washington at 4:25 a.m. Sunday, law enforcement sources have said.

However there have been conflicting witness accounts and Brown has apparently denied punching the alleged victim, claiming the man tried to board his tour bus and his bodyguard 'handled it'.

Brown, who will appear in court again on November 25, has also been accused of making a homophobic slur during the altercation that led to his arrest.

The alleged victim, Isaac Adams Parker, 20, of Beltsville, Maryland, told police the Brown commented: 'I’m not down with that gay s**t,' when he attempted to get into a picture that the singer was taking with a female fan

Parker claims he replied: 'Why you hoing?' and Brown answered: 'I feel like boxing.'

Parker alleges he was punched by Brown and then his bodyguard, and that the singer then went and stood behind the bodyguard and told Parker to 'walk away'.

TMZ further reports that the Los Angeles County Probation Department are now launching an investigation to determine whether the charges violate the terms of the probation he is currently on.

The website claims the Probation Department was informed of the arrest by Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos, and he allegedly could face up to four years in prison if it is decided that his probation should be revoked.

His probation was briefly revoked in July after he was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Los Angeles, but it was later reinstated in August.

The star was charged on May 21 with a misdemeanour hit-and-run and driving without a valid licence following the accident in the San Fernando Valley.

Though he refuted claims by the other driver involved, insisting he 'followed the proper procedures' and exchanged information with the owner despite there being no damage to his car.

After being arrested for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009, the Turn Up The Music singer pleaded guilty to a felony and accepted a plea deal.

On August 25 he was sentenced to five years' probation, one year of domestic violence counselling and six months' community service, while his five-year restraining order remained.

'Louis Vuitton's prices are just too extreme': Kanye West takes a stand against the famous French fashion brand

Kanye West has spoken out against the high cost of luxury goods.

The rapper says that if given the opportunity, he would not collaborate with Louis Vuitton on a range of designs again because the French label is too expensive and sets a bad example of spending habits for his young fans.

On Monday morning he told Los Angeles radio talk show host Big Boy: ‘If I had the opportunity to design for Louis Vuitton now I wouldn’t because the prices are just too extreme.’

. West added that he does not want to send out a ‘message to have kids saving up that much to be a part of what [my] ideas are.’

West last collaborated on a line of sneakers with the French leather goods brand in 2009. The designs ranged in price from $840 to $1,140.

He recently launched a co-opted collection with French casual brand A.P.C., which included a $120 plain white T-shirt and a $280 hoodie. The limited-edition line sold out within a day of its release.

West told Big Boy that while he doesn’t ‘totally agree with what H&M and Zara does,’ he does appreciate how ‘they were able to break that idea that creativity, that these things you really want to have [doesn't need to] cost a million dollars.’

West’s eponymous fashion label was rumored for a return during the spring 2014 fashion shows, but alas, no such reboot materialized on the runway.

The label included a collaboration with Italian shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti, with styles that cost up to $5,800

His most controversial move yet? Kanye West sells confederate flag merchandise at Yeezus pop-up shop next door to Kim Kardashian’s boutique

It is regarded by many as one of the most racist symbols in American culture.
So it is somewhat perplexing that Kanye West has chosen to emblazon his tour merchandise with the confederate flag, used by extremist groups like the Ku Klux Klan as their emblem.
The flag, also known as the Southern Cross, was seen featured on T-shirts and bags at his new Yeezus tour pop-up shop next door to fiancee Kim Kardashian's clothing boutique in Los Angeles on Monday.

New pictures emerged Monday of the merchandise currently for sale at the temporary shop on Melrose Avenue, which he chose to locate right next door to Kim's Dash boutique.
One of the T-shirts features a skull with the flag as the background and the words 'I ain't comin' down,' while another features a skeletal grim reaper wearing the flag as a cloak and carrying a scythe.
Other shirts feature skeletons in various positions, including one kneeling and praying with the words 'Yeezus wants you.' Also on display were shoulder bags bearing the flag.

Kanye's sixth album Yeezus confronts racism head-on, and the items, which were unveiled on the first leg of his tour in Seattle earlier this month, may be a nod to songs such as Black Skinhead and New Slaves.
Kanye, 36, finally spoke out Monday on why he chose to decorate his merchandise with the symbol, which for many is a painful reminder of slavery (although many view it as a symbol of southern pride, and it is still displayed in many areas of the American South).
'React how you want,' he said during an interview with radio station Los Angeles 97.1 AMP. 'Any energy you got is good energy. I represented slavery, my abstract take on what I know about it, I wrote New Slaves. So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. What are you going to do?'
Kanye is not the only rapper to make reference to the flag in his music, with singers Ludacris, Andre 3000 and Pastor Troy all incorporating the symbol into their album covers or dress, according to Hip Hop Wired.

But some may disagree with Kanye's use of the flag, namely Reverend Al Sharpton, who recently compared the symbol to the swastika.
'Often times, people like to falsely believe that the Confederate flag is somehow not offensive,' he wrote in The Huffington Post earlier this month. 'As Jonathan Capehart of the Washington Post highlighted in his recent piece, it's akin to placing a swastika somewhere.
'The Confederate flag symbolises dehumanisation, injustice and pain. It is a stark reminder of an era in our history that was defined by the abhorrent practice of slavery. And it is representative of a mentality that looked upon Blacks as inferiors who needed to remain in the shackles of subservience. If you don't believe me, ask family members of those that were beaten, castrated and lynched under the guise of that Confederate flag.'

Kanye displayed his typical conflated sense of self during Monday's radio interview.
When asked what he thought of Obama's fashion sense, he replied, 'Obama? Nobody’s looking at what Obama is wearing. I’m the No. 1 inspirational person in fashion.'
He also admitted he hoped to one day balance his work with being daughter North's 'soccer coach.'
'I hang out with my girl [Kim] and my daughter every day,' he said. 'No place I’d rather be. Not even when I’m thinking about things I’m creating in business, my biggest goal is to get home to family. I want to figure out a way to do my work and be my daughter’s soccer coach. I’m going to be a soccer coach and redesign their uniforms. I’ll redesign the mini-van.'

Meanwhile, Kim announced the new pop-up store via a Twitter picture on Sunday.
The proud reality TV star couldn’t resist posting a picture of the two shops on Instagram with the caption ‘HIS & HERS’.

Kim recently insisted that when Kanye rented out San Francisco's AT&T baseball park last Monday - her 33rd birthday - she truly had no idea that he was about to get down on one knee with an enormous diamond ring and ask her to marry him.
Speaking to People magazine at her epic birthday bash at Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas on Friday night, Kim declared that the moment Kanye asked for her hand in marriage was an 'absolute, complete surprise.'

Nice day for a height wedding: World's tallest man finds love with woman 2ft 7in shorter than him

As the world’s tallest man, 8ft 3in Sultan Kosen despaired of finding a soulmate who would prove a perfect fit.
So the gentle giant says it’s nothing short of a miracle that he has met his love match in Merve Dibo.
And despite a height difference of 2ft 7in, Mr Kosen, 30, celebrated the biggest day of his life yesterday – tying the knot with his 20-year-old bride in his native Turkey.

Before meeting Miss Dibo, Mr Kosen had spoken of his difficulties in finding a partner, as most potential girlfriends were put off by his size.
But yesterday the part-time farmer, who had ordered a custom-made suit and size 28 shoes for his wedding, said he was thrilled to have found ‘the person for me’.

He added: ‘It was unfortunate that I could not find a suitable girl of my own size. But now I will have my own family and private life.’
Mr Kosen, who is one of only ten people ever to top 8ft, suffers from a rare disorder called pituitary gigantism, which causes his body to continually produce growth hormones..
Kosen also holds the Guinness World Record for the size of his 27.5cm hands and feet, which are recorded 36.5 centimetres - a massive size 28

Chelsea 2 Man City 1: Nightmare for City as Nastasic and Hart gift Torres late winner after Aguero's stunner cancelled out Schurrle opener at the Bridge

When Fernando Torres hit his glorious winner, Jose Mourinho jumped from his dugout and wheeled past the City bench with his arms stretched wide.He then climbed up through the crowds like a Wimbledon champion in search of his son.

Chelsea had stunned City in the final minute of this exhilarating match, and Mourinho was where he likes to be — centre stage.
On the touchline his assistant Rui Faria sprinted on to the pitch with clenched fists, sank to his knees and looked up to the heavens.
The Chelsea ranks were pumped full of energy but on the pitch bodies were everywhere as the knees buckled on City’s players.
They collapsed on the turf as if they had just blown their chances of winning the Barclays Premier League. Perhaps they have.
There was certainly no talking to Manuel Pellegrini on Sunday night when he appeared, very briefly, to analyse City’s third defeat on the road. This one hurts the most and has left them six points off Arsenal at the top.
‘We are losing stupid points,’ was City boss Pellegrini at his most coherent during a torturous five-minute assessment of his side’s performance.
He was going through the motions but that’s what happens when your title rivals strike for glory in the last minute and the opposition manager’s name happens to be Mourinho. There is disbelief. And there was disrespect.
Pellegrini also confirmed he had refused to shake Mourinho’s hand at the final whistle.
Whatever the semantics, it’s a long-standing custom in English football to afford the opposition manager the courtesy at the final whistle. City’s coach will have to learn the way things are done here.

Once the Chelsea excitement had died down — and the stadium announcer confirmed that Torres had scored his first goal in the league this season — there was only one question: Joe Hart, what were you doing?
His face was contorted when Torres sprinted beyond him in the final seconds but he has only himself to blame for this inexplicable error.
Hart operates at the highest level and there is no hiding place for a keeper once considered good enough to be spoken of in the same breath as Manuel Neuer, Gianluigi Buffon and Petr Cech. Not any more.
The late, great Brian Clough always claimed that a good goalkeeper could save a team between 10 and 15 points a season. Hart is costing City as many.

Hart was in familiar territory. Only last month he came racing out of his penalty area to intercept Andreas Weimann at Villa Park.
Weimann shimmied past him in the 75th minute to win the game for Aston Villa, adding to a collection of howlers on the Hart showreel. City’s keeper is a liability right now.
His deputy, Costel Pantilimon, is expected to replace him for the Capital One Cup tie against Newcastle on Wednesday at St James’ Park. From there, it has to be the Romanian’s jersey to lose.
This was a brilliant match. It was full of magical moments from both teams as they tested and stretched each other to the limit at Stamford Bridge.

MATCH ZONE ANALYSIS

David Silva’s 360-degree spin that took him past two Chelsea midfielders was a blur of skill and speed, a real jaw-dropping moment.

Then there was the cheek of Chelsea full-back Branislav Ivanovic when he nutmegged Silva as he set up yet another attack down the right flank.
Chelsea were bombing on all afternoon down that wing, throwing numbers forward to test the resilience and confidence of City’s left-back Gael Clichy. They had his measure.
Torres was sensational, galloping past him to set up Chelsea’s first-half opener by Andre Schurrle.

Aguero’s explosive finish raised the stakes. Mourinho threw on substitutes to try to win their fifth successive league game at home, sending for Samuel Eto’o, Willian and John Obi Mikel to change the game.
But this was Torres’ day. His attitude was first class and his commitment unquestionable after he saved a goal-kick by sliding into the electronic advertising hoardings.
It was the Torres of old who ran through in the final minute, reading Willian’s hopeful pass and making a mug of Matija Nastasic and Hart on the edge of City’s area.
